Sirens Grotto

Sirens Grotto is the name of any of the caverns or borders in the Verdant Caverns that terminate upon the black sand shores of a massive underground lake, known as the Siren's Last Refuge, and it helps provide one of the first examples of the distorted landmasses of the dungeon, as you can find the same lake travelling in any direction, making it possible to travel out of one grotto, travel in a straight line, and enter a grotto that is a few feet away from the one you left by lake.

A housing district, Steppe Fjord was established in a more recently discovered grotto, and was built up in short order in perfectly arranged long houses and docked ships creating a theme park feel of an ancient Viking village.

Description

From the largest Sirens Grotto to the odd smaller chambers they all somehow open up to a an underground salt water lake that expands further then the line of sight. Black sand coasts lays littered with tiny sparkling gemstones, and the ever-present light of the sun or moon crystals overhead while, sometimes as blinding as looking directly at the crystals themselves. Many of the beaches are dotted with small rocky outcroppings almost like underground coral reefs, the lake stretches on far past what you can see. But beware, amongst the glowing corals and gently stirring waters are the wrecks of many a ship built to travers this underground lake and further into the Bending Seas beyond.
