Katina, Mother of the Vespids, Queen of the Verdant Hive and Empress and Protector of the Verdant Caverns, took over for her mother Melora after the Second Exodus, a position she is rapidly learning how to make her own.

History

Born in a clutch of four, Katina grew up a happy child, and in her early hundreds started helping with the next clutch of her parents while looking to start her own family. she wound up leaving, engaging with another when the Far Realm's incursion ruined her life. As she fought the world fell out from under her, and when she woke, she was in massive pain, wounded, in the smoldering ruins of a crater in a jungle, where she was 'saved' by the vespids, by being taken prisoner and converted due to the massive damage she caused, however, during the conversion Queen Melora realized Katina was not quite the horrible destructive monster she assumed, and adopted her as a princess of the hive.

For the last hundred years, Katina has been raised to be a queen, to replace Melora upon the throne. Unlike her adopted mother, she is more open to negotiation and being a peacemaker, even when the Vespids themselves are not directly involved. She took particular issue with her mother's decision to prevent the Exodermis Colony from settling due to isolationism. She wants to see trade and more open working with others, though, much like every queen before her, she has a hardline stance on the protection of the Hive and their work.

Further, unlike Melora her psionic powers are stronger, allowing her to work with others, and not be the pampered, hidden queen as her predecessor was.
