Arkaitz is the owner of "Curses and Loans" a travelling business run out of a wagon moving between places in the Goblin Bazaar, the Black Market, and where ever a potentially high value auction is to be held. His business is simply what it says, he gives and manages both Curses and Loans, while the second is purely business, he has a particular passion for curses.

History

The early years for Arkaitz was rough, being part devil, part elemental, and part fae put a burden upon his life, where he could easily fall into contracts and tricks, but could easily do the same to others, so much of his early years were spent simply studying with his family to prevent such entanglements.

Many on his father's side demanded that he join his father in the collecting of souls for devils, after all his mother was 'only a halfbreed fae', but such would not be what he wanted to do with life. Despite his stony exterior and reserved mannerism, Arkaitz was not evil, and did not wish to do evil. He was more interested in the lighter methods of contracts.

He was driven from his home as he grew older, and wandered for a while, before getting interested in studying curses, after a century of additional studies, he was becoming worried that he would never find where he belonged, it was then that he was swallowed up by the ground, and, found himself in Paradisium.

During the next few years, he met Runar Hansen, and learned that with proper study and effort, he did not have to be bound by the confines of only known magical curses. That lead him into finding ways to finance his studies, and he opened up 'Curses and Loans' for that endeavor.

He uses his cold seeming personality to his advantage, while he wishes to be friendly and helpful, he is well aware of how he comes across, and has been leaning into the devil persona to protect himself and investments. Still, those who get to know him, will discover something beyond that stony exterior.

Curses and Loans

The business of Curses and Loans is run in what appears to be on the outside a rather normal looking, if large, reading wagon. A sign mounted to the sign reads 'Curses and Loans', in the front of the wagon two harnesses mounts are used to attach to the ponies that will draw the wagon. When setup for business ramp leads up to the back door, inside, it is subtle but the space is larger then it should be. Should one pass the living curtain, the full scope of the internal size being greater then the outside wagon is fully exposed. Much of the business is run with magic, one of the key items being a combination of a magic scale and contracts, that allows the weighing of agreements or goods to their values, instead of weight, and can magically update to balance the scales.

Loan Business

Arkaitz will loan money typically under some standard contract language. Written and bound in Infernal, Elemental, Sylvian, and written in Common for understanding, the contracts he writes are deeply magically binding. If payment, or 'alternative methods' are not worked out before becoming to far in the rears of a loan, the contracts state that whatever the loan was used to purchase, as well as the signor becomes proper of Arkaitz to resell or otherwise do what he wishes.

He deeply does not wish for that part of the contract to trigger for multiple reasons, and he will give most borrows a chance to negotiate repayment or work for payments. He often has folks act as bounty hunters to track down those in the rears in hopes of arranging payment, providing rescue, or bringing to him rare or unusual curses.

Curse Business

Arkaitz will lay upon others, or remove from others, any number of curses, including brands. He does not care deeply about consent during these business transactions, getting lost in the pleasure of working with curses and the excitement the opportunity brings. He may feel guilty after the fact, but by then, the job is done.

Curse Research

He will pay (or write off loan amounts) for people to bring him curses, either by receiving curses and coming to him for removal, or fetching cursed objects for his study. Common curses he will require payment to remove, as they are boring, but more exotic curses he will pay to study first, and then remove.

He may well be responsible for a number of curses currently floating through the dungeon, but he keeps a certain selection of 'reserve curses' that others will not learn. Many of the curses start out as specific rituals, only few being turned into purely magical curses that one may bestow with generic spell work.
