Law & order

Though the maintenance of order and the enforcement of rules remains a community effort there are some institutions of respected (but informal) authority. The COCK (the council of civic kobolds) and the GOCK (the goblin order of cooperative kindness) are two of such authorities, these civil committees act as a more formal means to discuss issues that arise and as places to propose new community projects. Along with these two committees there is a third respected power, the Ral family.

House of Resolutions

The House of Resolutions is well-worn tavern built into the outer wall half-way down the Spiralway. The tavern is well appointed with comfy furnishings as it stands as the beating heart of the community. Entering through it's saloon-like doors one is greeted to a lively feast-hall alit by the comfy glow of mushroom-oil lanterns. It's stunted tables brimming with the often short, rowdy and flirtatious locals who exchange humorous banter amongst eachother. The establishment is run by the Ral family and it's basement consists of a brewery made to dwarven specifications. All manner of alcoholic beverages from mushroom wines to jelly meads are served here in great abundance, not to mention the staggering variety of delicious ways mushrooms and cave fish are prepared and served here. On the upper level is the "Committee Chamber" where members of the COCK and GOCK gather in an oratory theatre to engage in often inadvertently humorous discussions of politics and policy. This chamber is also where judgments against those who break the taboos are held along with all other matters of communal importance. Any member of the community can voice their opinions freely within the Committee Chamber as decision making is done by popular consensus.
