Ole' Burlesque

From Paradisium Wiki

Description

Whatever this room once was, it was certainly intended for an audience. And it seems more than a few have made it their home over the years. The curtains are tattered and worn, but rich and deep, and they wrap around a semicircular stage with coliseum style seating. Rather than chairs there are dusty pillows and exotic throws, inside padded recesses somewhere between a seating nook and an extravagant bed. Each of the 15 or so could fit 6 people easily. The stage can be seen from anywhere in the chamber, and and array of colored crystals shines an aerie, yet seductive light upon the stage in shifting hues of purple, pink, and blue.

A sign, painted haphazardly over the worn, but plush theater reads "The Ole' Burlesque

Notable Location

Backstage Burlesque
The backstage of the Theatre is not particularly large, considering the size of the show floor itself, but it is well decorated with hung silks and old silver mirrors, who's reflections seem almost too beautiful to be true. A few soft chairs and lounge-worthy seating, and a sigil carved into a stone archway that contains no door. Script beneath the sigils reads:

"I Must Be Seen" the veil becomes thin,
The doorway opens and the glamour within
Worn to perform for pleasure or sin
But be the warned, child mine, of foolish mistake
Never beyond shall these garments you take
The words become true in truest of sense
And the body that wears them shall obey always hence
Never more to be hidden, only seen to perform."

Special Rules

Speaking or writing upon the skin the phrase "I Must Be Seen" opens up a special back room with an endless array of costumes and invisible servants to prepare one for the stage, preparing makeup, tailoring, finding the perfect costume, providing instruments, and anything else needed. However, a curse prevents removal of these from the Burlesque, any attempt causes the garments and props to vanish, and the one seeking to remove it will be cursed with a need for exhibitionism, and unable to wear clothes.
