Plaava Nymbiose
At the deepest part of the Market Town Outskirts before descending into the more dangerous areas of Paradisium, Plaava Nymbios stands as a majestic, if strange building. Many still remember it as The Cathedral, but the Exodermis and hosts that call it home, know it's now Plaava Nymbiose.
Description
Within a large cavern at the furthest edges of the Market Town Outskirts, existing almost completely isolated in its own cavern is what has been claimed as the Exodermis Colony, lacking any sort of proper name they have referred to the old Cathedral cavern as the Plaava Nymbiose, roughly Place of Symbiosis in deep speech.
The main building of Plaava Nymbiose still carries a certain majestic quality from its time as being a spired cathedral, blackened marble shows cracks and breaks from a historic destruction. Tendrils of shadowy material trail across the buildings, in through the cracks, pulsating like veins within the marble itself.
20ft arches have replaced doors, welcoming any to enter into the main building without barrier. Windows sport what appear to be windows of a thin, translucent material, not quite glass, particularly as the colors and images shift and move, displaying wonderous scenes of the various races the Exodermis have met and discovered.
A tree-like columns that stretch upwards into branching arches of stark obsidian bracing the ceiling evoke thoughts of the bones of a great beast, and what once were places to house statues to the false goddess of Paraidisum have been replaced with what, one might guess to be plants, translucent things, that one could find patterns in like those of flowers.
Nothing of the Keepers that once dwelled here remain, save for a few hosts and Exodermis who might speak of such things. A strange apparatus sits at the farthest end of the hall, a place for the Brood Mother to be comfortable, should she hold public gathers, it looks perhaps like a chaise lounge, if one were to squint, and ignore the unnatural curving features, which only serve to remind one when it is empty how unnatural to the material plane they, the Mother, appears at times.
History
In the far past, there were many gods and goddesses worshipped in Paradisium and there were many scattered cults of a new goddess, The Mistress, as revealed by Gothica when she spoke of serving Mistress in tending to the Paradisium.
It was in this landscape that Consumption woke in Paradisium, a deviant exodermis bent on power, they used means unknown and lost in the past to raise the Cathedral of the Keepers, and founded a cult worshiping the unknown Mistress, calling themselves the Keepers of the Starseed. This cult would subjugate other cults, and worked to snuff out all believes in any but the Mistress, and so, the Cathedral became the center of the only true religion of Paradisium.
Hundreds of years later, in the modern day much of the history and knowledge of anything but the Keepers of the Starseed was lost, and Consumption continued to hold power, a puppet master in the shadow, always controlling the face of the Keepers, until their war against the colony exodermis and taking of slaves for their power came crashing down leading to the Fall of the Keepers, and with it, the destruction of the cathedral.
Abandoned, the very exodermis colony that Consumption sought to destroy claimed the land and building for themselves, having been seeking a home and denied until then. Reconstruction was difficult, but the exodermis and their hosts proved to be a hearty lot, and the new structure, Plaava Nymbiose stands, rebuilt and changed, a home, a base, and a show of pride for the exodermis and their hosts.
