The Isle of Avalon is located in the center of four convergent areas, being the crossroads between the Wild Gardens, Sirens Grotto, Twilight Groves, and Haunted Hollows.
The Wild Gardens and Twilight Groves border each other, and dot into each other depending on the crystals provided, both also border the Sirens Grotto as the rivers and lakes move down to the seas beyond.
The Wild Gardens is known to fade into the Haunted Hollows on in some areas, the trees dark and twisted under the growing influence of the Haunted Hollows. The border is monitored and protected.
The Sirens Grotto is part of the shorelines to the Bending Seas, if one follows the coast far enough, they can come across Smugglers Cove. Along the shoreline, a cave system has been carved out, providing access to the Steppe Fjord. On a smaller section of coast, almost completely enveloped in the jungle of the Wild Gardens is the Mermaid Cove Resort.
Honeydew Valley is has a few connections to various Kobold Dens, which provides border raids on food and for sexual conquest and a sharp cliff can theoretically be climbed to reach the Wild Gardens, the cliff is home to some variants of birds and aaroka tribes, and is not an actual suitable method of travel for those who cannot fly. Finally, a stone bridge crosses a ravine to be able to transport goods to the Market Town.
Wild Gardens
The Wild Gardens is the green areas of the Verdant Caverns that grow under the presence of the Sun Crystals, the most common version is dense jungles, but there are thinner patches of forests and the rare clearing or special grove. While large caverns are much more common in this area, there are interconnected tunnels and smaller caverns as well, as well as some unusual features. While it can be dangerous to the unwary traveler, it is fairly safe overall, particularly with the Vespids being willing to aid travelers.
Notable Locations
- Dragonleaf Grove
- A settlement overseen by a Song Dragon, the major feature is the entire grove is made of a rare type of tree known as Dragonleaf Trees, which require tending of dragons to properly survive.
- Verdant Hive (Location)
- In a larger cavern hidden away from most travelers, said to be the heart of the Verdant Caverns and the Wild Gardens, where the Vespids live. They can be welcoming to visitors.
- Tower of Life
- A strange vine known to grow in a dense part of the Verdant Gardens, extremely thick vine grows, running into the soil below and the stone ceiling above, wrapped by many smaller vines. The main vine has the sound of liquid rushing through it, and all the vines excrete a powerful aphrodisiac.
- Giant Stump
- A giant stump of a tree that no longer exists, hollowed out it is said that women can be founding safely living in the area, but men seem to be less then welcomed.
