Tranquility Ranch is owned by Malinda Blalock founded by her ninety years ago. It stands as the largest pony ranch, at the wild edges of the Honeydew Valley near the Kobold Dens.

Description

The approach road is lined with tall hedges, hiding much on the cobbled stone approach, to give way to a large center pasture, where ponies are allowed to mingle, interact, and exercise freely. The road widens and surrounds the pastures, a fence defining an inside track around for gentle exercise around the facilities, and to move ponies about.

Following the path clockwise, one would first come upon a small, simple stable with cheap housing for self-stabled or owner stabled ponies, with paddocks to tend to the horses among the pastel grass. A smaller pasture separates it from a much larger stable, where more wealthy self-stabled ponies and owners who wish to give their ponies the best, both heavily modified with assistance from Rakan to provide proper housing, with a simple appearance. Among the stable housing is a work building and shop, where local smithing and saddling work is done, and the goods made are displayed and sold to those who visit. Beyond the private paddocks, a path splits from the main road, leading to various race tracks.

As the road loops, a rider's lodge is at the edge of the road, a comfortable place for riders to kick back, and discuss ownership and riding, across from the entrance another path leads north, to the private resident of Malinda Blalock, and her private stables. Following the road as it turns back, another lodge building is present, unlike the other, it is housing for riders and visitors who wish to spend the night, or have on ranch living, including the ranch hands. Another path leads to a more private pasture.

The final building as one returns to the entrance, is set up as a breeding and fun barn for those ponies who wish to have more involved sex outside of their stable housing, and other open fields and training areas.

History

The beginnings of the Tranquility Ranch was as an outpost to guard against threats from the Kobold Den, a rider that patrolled with the guards was a young Malinda Blalock, a refugee from another world, a calvary soldier in her old life she readily took up the job. She saved and worked thirty years, before she made a bid to convert the small outpost to a ranch, it would still be the frontier against the Kobold Den, but it would also be more.

The construction took some years, the outpost was converted to the first Rider's Lodge, in the ninety years since the land has grown, has been landscaped and expanded upon to the ranch as it is now, the core staff has been kept small, and free housing is offered to patrolling rangers that continue to patrol from property against Kobold incursion.

Training Regimes, and Rules

Malinda Blalock will admit anyone who comes to train on their own will, however she will also admit and train anyone who comes under ownership of another. The training regimes are tailored to the desires of the clientele, which includes training in outfits, commands, posture, walking, and more esoteric training.

The ponies on the ranch are under a special form of protection, with strict rules on engagement with the ponies, partially established by the ponies and owners, and partially by the ranch itself. The ranch staff has been known to throw out owners who violate the rules even when interacting with their own ponies. However, they will not stop any owner from taking their ponies back, even if some disagree with the practice.
