They are a mechanical superorganism that has spread and spread and yet settled comfortably on their current borders, not at all out of a desire to avoid angering other inhabitants so much as a lack of need; they have become so entrenched in the firmament of Paradisium that they can expand inwards if they so choose, there's no point to expansion anymore.

			There are whispers of a time when the Toymaker was... less concerned with willing test subjects. Where Fucktoys were called Dolls, and said dolls were uncanny predators always hunting more to convert. The Toymaker is very firm in their explanation of the matter; a wave of temporal magic washed out of one of their less-contained experiments, and convinced a number of Paradisium's inhabitants of an alternate reality. Whether that's true or not, well, that's up to the reader to decide.

			As it stands now though, the Toymaker has no need for forced conversion. There are enough souls in Paradisium willing to give their selves away to the collective array of soul crystals that composes the Toymaker's mind. The Toymaker concerns themselves with experimentation and research now, for apparently no ends aside from advancing the state of knowledge itself. They are happy to make deals, or take visitors, or even trade, because it takes such a small fragment of their collective concentration to speak with others that they never need leave their experiments unattended. But not all experiments are safe, attended or not, and they find annoyingly larger fractions of their consciousness embroiled in the politics of Metropolis City, if only to avoid unwise incursions into their land.
